Monster High costumes are a great Halloween costume idea as they integrate elements of the nightmare genre with trendy youth fashion. In other words, cool finding monsters or rather in the Monster High world, ghoul finding monsters. That's someone else aspect of the imaginary world that appeals to young to tween aged girls - the humorous play on words.
You can consequent all the goings on in the school by watching the YouTube webisodes which cover many typical issues that youthful kids will face at school. You know, like development friends, dating, passing exams, development the track team or fear squad and stuff like that. There are also books and music about the place.
Angel Halloween
The idea of the school with youthful monster kids is the brainchild of toy maker Mattel. And finally they sell merchandise, primarily dolls of the main characters and all sorts of accessories. They are fashioned like Bratz dolls but have the unique Monster looks and character traits.
For instance, Clawdeen Wolf is the offspring of the Wolfman (a werewolf). She has werewolf characteristics and behaviors and these often crop up in story lines. someone else is Draculaura, who is the daughter of Dracula of course. She cannot be seen in mirrors and can't go out in the sunlight as you would expect of all self respecting vampires.
Other characters comprise Frankie Stein, the daughter of Frankenstein's monster, Lagoona Blue, daughter of the vertebrate from the Black Lagoon and Cleo De Nile who is daughter of the Mummy.
There are other characters that feature in the story lines too, like Deuce Gorgon, Ghoulia Yelps, Claude Wolf and Holt Hyde. There are even new characters being added all the time, like the replacement student Abbey Bominable who is the daughter of the Abominable Snowman of course.
In terms of costumes, you can only get the main five characters currently. Maybe more will be added if the series continues to be popular. The costumes are based on the outfits that the first version of the dolls were dressed in. As the characters are wannabe youthful fashionistas they just love dressing up in new gear and the newest styles. Hence there are quite a few versions of the dolls, dressed in separate gear.
The costumes look like good representations of the outfits worn by the customary Monster High doll characters and are officially licensed by the Mattel company. They would make a great Halloween costume for young girls as they have a spooky theme in holding with the holiday but also look good.
